The cheapest days to fly are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays because they are the least travelled days. Air travel is just like any other business, it's simple supply and demand.

Any business would be silly to offer deals and discounts at peak times when they're going to sell out regardless of the price. For example, airlines never give deals for flights around school holidays and weekends because the flights around these times will still sell regardless of the price they charge.

They'd practically be throwing money down the drain if they offered discounts at these times.

As with most places, a lot of people fly to Vegas for either business meetings or conferences or for a weekend leisure trip to the casinos. It goes without saying then, that the most expensive flights will be on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.

If you're looking for cheap flights don't even bother trying to fly on these days. To be even more specific you can get even cheaper flights if you book at times during the day on week days. Let me explain. A lot of business travelers who are traveling to meetings mid week will book the flights before 9am and after 5pm, therefore the demand for these seats will be higher than say, during the day.

As with Vegas, the cheapest days to fly to Hawaii will be as mentioned above with the addition of King Kuhoi Day and King Kamehameha Day.

At any time you're looking at when to buy airline tickets be sure to check the local public holidays as these days will create an expensive window or travel for 2 days either side of the actual public holiday (sometimes even longer).
